Buy The Pallet .co.uk has pretty much flown up the Google rankings since we launched it in 2019. It offers tiling (tile adhesives and floor levellers), building supplies (silicones, floor levellers, roofing), and outdoor supplies (gravel grids, paving grout, outdoor flooring levelling).
It was decided at the very start to focus the design with high SEO because it is a drop-ship business. Its competitors were big high-street brands and well-established online commerce sites so it wasn’t going to be easy – far from it. Being a specialist website selling only orders that are shipped on pallets we knew from the start that it wouldn’t be too long before every other competitor could add-on pallet deals to their own website. We estimated that we had about 1 maybe 2 years before the whole lot of competitors big and small did the same.
Here we are in 2024, when it was first launched in 2019 there were 8 competitors online selling pallet deals. A count last month we counted 79 competitors offering pallet deals – pretty much all online shops in this sector now offer pallet deals. Other types of companies, e.g. bathroom supply companies, had also entered the arena.
We had factored this in from the very start and our strategy was in place.
Buy The Pallet had no big starting investment or backers to splurge advertising so it was grown organically by me and Kev.
